{"id":4498,"date":"2025-11-20T18:49:48","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T18:49:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=4498"},"modified":"2025-11-20T18:49:48","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T18:49:48","slug":"srinagar-e-rickshaw-drivers-decry-unjust-no-go-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/11\/20\/srinagar-e-rickshaw-drivers-decry-unjust-no-go-zones\/","title":{"rendered":"Srinagar E-Rickshaw drivers decry &#8216;unjust&#8217; No-Go Zones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Nov 20:\u00a0<\/strong>E-rickshaw operators in Srinagar have strongly opposed the RTO\u2019s recent decision declaring Moulana Azad Road (Jehangir Chowk to J&amp;K Bank HQ) and Residency Road (Hari Singh High Street to J&amp;K Bank HQ) as \u201cNo e-Rickshaw Zones,\u201d calling it \u201cunjust\u201d and a direct threat to their livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p>Arshid Ahmad Bhat, President of the E-Rickshaw Union Kashmir said, the decision is unfair and would directly impact the daily earnings of thousands of drivers.<\/p>\n<p>He said they are with the government over regulation of traffic congestion in Srinagar city, but condemn this move. \u201cIf a road is being closed, the authorities should at least allow e-rickshaws on alternate routes like Residency Road. Thousands of families depend on these vehicles for their daily income, this sudden restriction is unjust and harsh,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the RTO announced the ban following its meeting on November 13, 2025, citing the need to ensure smoother traffic flow in high-density areas often slowed by frequent e-rickshaw stoppages.
