{"id":5007,"date":"2025-11-25T19:12:01","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T19:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=5007"},"modified":"2025-11-25T20:03:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T20:03:01","slug":"govt-announces-winter-vacation-for-kashmir-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/11\/25\/govt-announces-winter-vacation-for-kashmir-schools\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt announces winter vacation for Kashmir schools"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Pre-Primary: Nov-26<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Middle Classes: Dec-01<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Higher classes: Dec-11<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Srinagar, Nov 25:<\/strong>\u00a0School Education Department (SED) Tuesday announced winter break in a phased manner for Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division.<\/p>\n<p>SED Secretary Ram Niwas Sharma in an order said that the vacations for Pre-primary (Balvatika) classes shall commence from November-26 to February-28-2026.<\/p>\n<p>In case of middle classes upto 8th standard, Sharma said that the vacations shall be observed from December-01 to February-28.<\/p>\n<p>It also said that the winter break for 9th to 12th standard shall commence from December-11 to February-22.<\/p>\n<p>SED also said that all Teaching faculty shall remain available for any academic activity during the vacation period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Teaching staff shall report back to their respective schools on February-20-2026 for making arrangements regarding opening of schools,\u201d reads the order.<\/p>\n<p>SED said that any default on the part of the Heads of Institutions or Teaching staff in observance of the above schedule shall attract strict action under the Rules.<\/p>\n<p>Pertinently, two weeks back KNO reported that the School Education Department had tentatively decided to announce the winter vacations in a phased manner from the first week of December for the winter zone of Kashmir division.<\/p>\n<p>Sources had informed KNO that Education Minister Sakina Itoo in a review meeting had informed the officials of the department that the government will likely announce winter vacation for primary level classes from the first week of December.<\/p>\n<p>The official sources had further informed that in case of other classes upto 12th standard, the vacations are likely from the second week of December<strong>\u2014(KNO)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pre-Primary: Nov-26 Middle Classes: Dec-01 Higher classes: Dec-11 Srinagar, Nov 25:\u00a0School Education Department (SED) Tuesday announced winter break in a phased manner for Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division.
