{"id":5594,"date":"2025-12-01T18:11:10","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T18:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=5594"},"modified":"2025-12-01T18:11:10","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T18:11:10","slug":"uptick-in-temperature-post-snowfall-in-high-reaches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/uptick-in-temperature-post-snowfall-in-high-reaches\/","title":{"rendered":"Uptick in temperature post snowfall in high reaches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Srinagar, Dec 01:\u00a0<\/strong>Following the fresh snowfall in higher reaches, Kashmir valley witnessed a slight reprieve from the bitter cold on Monday as the region witnessed a rise in minimum temperatures, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>According to meteorological sources, \u201cA light snowfall was reported in Minimarg region near Zojila Pass along the Srinagar-Kargil route The overnight cloud cover across the valley contributed to an increase in temperatures compared to the previous night, they added.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Srinagar recorded a minimum of minus 1.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday night\u2014up from minus 4.4 degrees Celsius, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>North Kashmir\u2019s Baramulla recorded the lowest temperature in the valley at minus 4.7 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<p>Qazigund registered a minimum of minus 1.0 degrees Celsius, while Kupwara recorded minus 3.2 degrees Celsius, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>South Kashmir\u2019s Kokernag area reported a low of 0.2 degrees Celsius, and the Pahalgam recorded minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, showing an increase of over five degrees compared to the previous night.<\/p>\n<p>Gulmarg recorded 0.3 degrees Celsius, a rise of two degrees from the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the weather pattern indicates that temperatures may remain stable over the next few days due to the continued presence of cloud cover and light precipitation in some areas.<\/p>\n<p>They added that the snowfall at higher reaches may affect road conditions along Srinagar-Kargil and other connecting routes\u2014advising travelers to take precautions.<\/p>\n<p>The officials also said that residents of low-lying areas experienced slight relief from cold wave conditions due to the increase in night temperatures.<\/p>\n<p>The meteorological department said similar weather conditions are expected to continue in coming days with intermittent cloud cover and occasional light snowfall at higher altitudes.<\/p>\n<p>Officials urged people to remain cautious while traveling to hilly and mountainous areas<strong>\u2014(KNO)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Dec 01:\u00a0Following the fresh snowfall in higher reaches, Kashmir valley witnessed a slight reprieve from the bitter cold on Monday as the region witnessed a rise in minimum temperatures, officials said.
