{"id":6325,"date":"2025-12-08T19:32:44","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T19:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=6325"},"modified":"2025-12-08T19:32:44","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T19:32:44","slug":"jk-trained-over-4-29-lakh-youth-under-pmkvy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/12\/08\/jk-trained-over-4-29-lakh-youth-under-pmkvy\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018J&#038;K trained over 4.29 lakh youth under PMKVY\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ladakh crosses 4,000 mark<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Dec 08: Jammu &amp; Kashmir has trained 4,29,954 youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) since its inception, the Ministry of Labour &amp; Employment has informed Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry further informed that the Union Territory of Ladakh has trained 4,076 candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The data according to the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) was shared in response to a Lok Sabha question on employment, skill development and the status of various livelihood schemes being implemented across States and Union Territories.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry, J&amp;K and Ladakh UTs continue to benefit from national employment-linked and skill development programmes, including PMKVY, DDU-GKY and MGNREGA, which together aim to improve employability and create wage and self-employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry said that under MGNREGA, Jammu and Kashmir generated Rs 4.07 crore person-days in 2020\u201321, Rs 4.06 crore in 2021\u201322, Rs 3.09 crore in 2022\u201323, Rs 3.75 crore in 2023\u201324, and Rs 4.09 crore person-days in 2024\u201325. \u201cThe current financial year (as on November 2025) stands at 2.23 crore person-days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ladakh, that participates in MGNREGA separately as a UT, generated Rs 0.21 crore person-days in 2020\u201321, Rs 0.19 crore in 2021\u201322, Rs 0.20 crore in 2022\u201323, Rs 0.20 crore in 2023\u201324, Rs 0.22 crore in 2024\u201325, and Rs 0.14 crore person-days so far in 2025\u201326.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry informed that Under DDU-GKY, J&amp;K trained 1,088 candidates and placed 628 candidates during 2025\u201326 up to October 2025. In the previous year 2024\u201325, at least 1,767 youth were trained and 636 placed.<\/p>\n<p>It also said that the employment generation remains a key national priority, with schemes like PMEGP, MGNREGA, DAY-NULM, PM SVANidhi, Start-Up India, Mudra Yojana, and Skill India Mission operating across the country, including in both J&amp;K and Ladakh.<\/p>\n<p>It added that the Government continues to focus on improving youth employability, women\u2019s participation in the workforce, rural livelihoods and industry-linked skilling through ongoing reforms and targeted initiatives.
