{"id":940,"date":"2025-10-10T20:13:04","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T20:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=940"},"modified":"2025-10-10T20:13:04","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T20:13:04","slug":"world-mental-health-day-observed-at-gmc-doda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2025\/10\/10\/world-mental-health-day-observed-at-gmc-doda\/","title":{"rendered":"World Mental Health Day observed at GMC Doda"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>KT News Desk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>DODA, OCTOBER 10:\u00a0<\/strong>Government Medical College (GMC) Doda organised awareness activities to observe World Mental Health Day in line with this year\u2019s theme \u2014 \u201cAccess to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event was organised by the Department of Community Medicine to highlight the importance of ensuring access to mental health services, particularly during crises and emergencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme was held under the guidance of the Medical College Principal Dr. Rakesh Bahl and under the supervision of Head of Department Community Medicine Dr. Suresh K. Kotwal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine Dr. Walied K Balwan addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on various aspects of mental health encountered in day-to-day life. He discussed the psychological impact of stressful situations and emphasised the importance of resilience, empathy and timely support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The session was hosted by Senior Resident, Department of Community Medicine Dr. Imran Zaffer, who briefly introduced the theme and highlighted the objectives of the observance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The MBBS pre-final year students, Sarosh and Mitali delivered an informative presentation on mental health, focusing on coping mechanisms and the significance of accessible services.
