{"id":9867,"date":"2026-01-17T20:21:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-17T20:21:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/?p=9867"},"modified":"2026-01-17T20:21:40","modified_gmt":"2026-01-17T20:21:40","slug":"prime-ministers-dev-package-for-jk-records-81-completion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kashmirthunder.in\/index.php\/2026\/01\/17\/prime-ministers-dev-package-for-jk-records-81-completion\/","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister\u2019s Dev Package for J&#038;K records 81% completion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rs 56946 crore released, Rs 54,986 crore utilised<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Srinagar, Jan 17: As many as 81.13% of projects sanctioned under the Prime Minister\u2019s Development Package (PMDP) for Jammu &amp; Kashmir have been completed or substantially completed, official documents reveal.<\/p>\n<p>Documents in possession of the news agency\u2014Kashmir News Observer (KNO) show that significant progress has been made in the implementation of the mega development package in J&amp;K.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of November 2025, significant progress has been made, with 29 projects (nine by the Government of India and 20 by the Government of Jammu &amp; Kashmir) completed, and 14 projects (4 by the Government of India and 10 by the Government of Jammu &amp; Kashmir) substantially completed. Collectively, this represents 81.13% of the total projects,\u201d the documents state.<\/p>\n<p>The documents further reveal that an expenditure of Rs 54986.17 crore has been incurred under the package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA total of Rs 56946.58 crore has been released for the 53 projects. As of November 2025, Rs 54986.17 crore (96.56% of the released amount) has been expended,\u201d the documents add.<\/p>\n<p>On November 7, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Rs 80068 crore mega financial package for Jammu &amp; Kashmir, with a focus on humanitarian relief, crisis management, social infrastructure, development projects, and economic infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of its announcement, the PMDP comprised 63 projects for erstwhile state of J&amp;K. Following the reorganisation of J&amp;K, 53 projects remained applicable to the Union Territory.<\/p>\n<p>While the PMDP\u2019s total financial outlay for J&amp;K was Rs 58484 crore, the total sanctioned cost of these projects stood at Rs 68905 crore. The sanctioned cost of certain projects-primarily those under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) executed on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis-has exceeded the allocations initially provided in the Prime Minister\u2019s Development Package (PMDP) as approved in 2015.
