Commuters and school-going children were particularly affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis road is a lifeline for our village. Its damage has made it extremely difficult for us to reach schools, markets and hospitals,\u201d Abdul Rashid, a local resident said.<\/p>\n<p>Another resident, Zahida Bano, expressed concern about safety. \u201cThere was no warning or sign of any damage. We fear further collapse if immediate repairs aren&#8217;t carried out,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities from the concerned department arrived at the site soon after the incident to assess the damage.
