Fresh snowfall cheers Gulmarg visitors

Srinagar, Mar 15: Fresh snowfall was witnessed in the famous ski resort of Gulmarg on Sunday, bringing cheer to tourists and the concerned stakeholders.

 

Visitors said the fresh snowfall added a charm to hill station and made their trip memorable. Several tourists expressed happiness over witnessing snowfall during their visit.

 

“It is a very nice experience. We thank God that we got a chance to witness snowfall again. It made our trip memorable,” said a group of tourists visiting the resort.

 

Hoteliers, guides and other tourism stakeholders also welcomed the snowfall. They said that the fresh snowfall could may help them to attract more visitors to the destination in the coming days.

 

Officials from the India Meteorological Department said that it was expecting a change in weather pattern following a a series of western disturbances that are affecting the region.

 

The department has predicted more rains and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir from Sunday onwards, with erratic weather conditions expected to continue till March 20.

 

Meanwhile, the authorities have advised the travellers to plan their journeys accordingly in view of the changing weather conditions. Farmers have also been asked to suspend farm operations temporarily until the weather improves.
