BUDGAM, APRIL 27: As part of the ongoing preparations for Census 2027, a three-day training programme for the first batch of Enumerators and Supervisors commenced Monday at RSETI  Budgam.

The programme was attended by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam Athar Aamir Khan, who is also the Principal Census Officer of the district.

Among others present were Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, BDO Budgam, master trainers, and participating enumerators and supervisors.

The training programme, as per an official statement is aimed at equipping field functionaries with the necessary skills and knowledge required for the smooth, efficient, and error-free conduct of the upcoming census exercise.

On the first day, master trainers imparted extensive training to participants, focusing on key aspects such as enumeration procedures, use of digital technology, ensuring data accuracy, and adherence to prescribed guidelines. Special emphasis was laid on clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of Enumerators and Supervisors.

During the sessions, practical demonstrations were conducted to enhance participants’ understanding of field operations.

The trainees were also sensitized about the importance of accurate data collection, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring timely submission of information.

The DC  interacted with the trainees and trainers during his visit to the training venue. He reviewed the ongoing sessions and underscored the significance of Census as a vital exercise for evidence-based planning and governance.

He further emphasized the need for maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and urged participants to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and commitment.

The DC said that the training is being conducted in a structured and interactive manner, incorporating hands-on exercises and open discussions to address queries and strengthen the overall preparedness of the field staff for the upcoming Census operations.
