Govt announces summer break for Jammu schools

Primary level to observe vacation from June-01, Classes 6th to 12th from June-08

Srinagar, May 23: The government Saturday announced summer vacation for schools in summer zones of Jammu division from June-01 for primary level.

The government also said that the classes from 6th to 12th standard shall observe the vacation from June-08.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo on X posted, “Keeping in view the prevailing weather conditions, summer vacations for schools falling under Summer Zone of Jammu Division shall commence w.e.f. 01.06.2026 for Primary Classes and w.e.f. 08.06.2026 for students of Classes 6th to 12th.”

The minister wished a safe and enjoyable vacation to the students.

Pertinently, on May-18, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) issued a heat wave advisory post rise in temperatures.

In this regard, authorities in Jammu had urged the people, particularly the elderly and small children, to stay indoors—(KNO)
