Ganderbal, Jun 04: The district administration Ganderbal has completed all preparations for the mega padyatra scheduled to be held tomorrow, June 5, which will be led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as part of the anti-drug awareness campaign.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore on Thursday reviewed the arrangements at Qamariya Stadium, the starting point of the padyatra, and expressed satisfaction over the preparedness for the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said adequate seating arrangements and other necessary facilities have been put in place, while the venue has been suitably decorated to welcome participants.

He said the administration has received an encouraging response from the public and expressed confidence that the rally will witness massive participation and emerge as a grand success.

Appealing to the people of Ganderbal, Kishore urged citizens to participate in large numbers and celebrate the event like a festival. The DC called upon people, particularly the youth, to support and strengthen the anti-drug campaign launched by the Lieutenant Governor and contribute towards making the mission successful.

The mega padyatra is expected to witness participation from officials, students, youth groups, civil society members and residents from different parts of the district—(KNO)
