Srinagar, Jun 04: Thousands of devotees thronged the historic Hazratbal Shrine on Thursday to offer special prayers and have a glimpse of the holy relic on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Usman Gani (RA), the third Caliph of Islam.

The revered shrine witnessed a huge gathering of men, women and children from different parts of Kashmir who assembled since early morning to participate in the religious observances with devotion and reverence.

As part of the occasion, the holy relic was displayed to the devotees after the congregational prayers, drawing emotional scenes as people raised their hands in supplication and prayed for peace, prosperity and communal harmony.

Devotees said the occasion holds immense religious significance and provides spiritual solace to the people.

“We feel blessed to witness the Holy Relic on this sacred occasion. People from every corner of the Valley come here to seek blessings and pray for peace,” Mohammed Salam from Budgam said.

Rafiq Ahmed, another devotee, said the sacrifice of Hazrat Usman Gani (RA) continues to inspire the Muslim community towards unity, patience and compassion.

Authorities had put in place elaborate arrangements around the shrine to facilitate the smooth movement of devotees. Security personnel and volunteers were deployed, while traffic regulations were also enforced in the Hazratbal area to avoid congestion.

Religious scholars highlighted the contribution and sacrifices of Hazrat Usman Gani (RA), remembering his role in strengthening the foundations of Islam and promoting justice and generosity.

The atmosphere around the shrine remained spiritually charged throughout the day as devotees continued to offer prayers and recite verses from the holy Quran—(KNO)
