SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: Reinforcing its commitment to the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Cultural Unit of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised a comprehensive drug awareness programme at Women’s College, M.A. Road, Srinagar, in collaboration with the college administration.

The programme, as per an official statement, aimed at sensitising students about the grave consequences of substance abuse and inspiring them to play a proactive role in building a drug-free and healthier society. The event, as per an official statement, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and officials of the Cultural Unit, DIPR.

As part of the awareness initiative, students delivered insightful speeches highlighting the growing threat posed by drug addiction and underscoring the responsibility of youth in combating the menace. The speakers stressed the importance of awareness, vigilance and collective action in protecting society from the harmful effects of substance abuse.

Adding a creative dimension to the campaign, artists of Tulkul Arts and Media Collective presented a powerful and thought-provoking skit portraying the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals, families and communities. Through an engaging performance, the artists effectively conveyed the message of the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, earning appreciation from the audience for their impactful presentation.

He highlighted the crucial role of awareness, community participation and active youth engagement in ensuring the success of the anti-drug campaign.

In recognition of their active participation and valuable contributions to the programme, certificates and mementoes were presented to the student speakers.

The college administration lauded the initiative undertaken by the Cultural Unit and appreciated its continued efforts in spreading awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse while fostering a culture of responsibility and healthy living.
