Srinagar, Jul 22: Anantnag Police on Wednesday cautioned the public against sharing unauthorised photographs, videos and unverified information related to the terror incident in Lal Chowk area, warning that violators will face legal action.

A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that several social media users and platforms were circulating fake photographs, edited videos and unverified content linked to the incident, which could hamper the investigation, spread misinformation and create public panic.

Police directed social media users and platforms to immediately remove any unauthorised or misleading content related to the incident, stating that strict action would be taken under relevant legal provisions against those who continue to circulate such material.

Police urged people not to upload or forward unverified information and advised them to rely only on official updates. (KNO)
