Legislators meet for 3rd time; meeting with NC top brass likely tomorrow

Srinagar, Nov 04: National Conference legislators, upset over the recent cabinet reshuffle-cum-expansion, held their third meeting in Srinagar on Wednesday to deliberate on their future course of action, sources disclosed.

Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that ten NC legislators met at the government accommodation of MLA Nazir Ahmad Gurezi at Tulsi Bagh here on Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting was attended by 10 MLAs from the Kashmir Valley.

“The MLAs from the Jammu region could not participate in the meeting due to their engagements in their respective constituencies,” sources said, adding that a few legislators from the Valley were also unable to attend because of prior commitments.

According to sources, the group enjoys the support of 20 to 24 legislators, with 18 of them having attended a meeting at the residence of MLA Qaiser Jamsheed Lone on Friday.

Sources said there is a possibility that the group will meet the NC top brass in Srinagar on Friday.

“There is a possibility that the group will meet the party leadership on Friday morning. From the NC, party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, or both may participate in the meeting,” they said. (KNO)
