Srinagar, Jul 24: The Centre on Friday informed Parliament that 69 faculty and 326 non-faculty posts are lying vacant at AIIMS Jammu during the current financial year (2026–27), while recruitment to sanctioned posts remains a continuous process.

Replying to an unstarred question in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said AIIMS Jammu has 183 sanctioned faculty posts, of which 114 are filled, while 985 of 1,311 sanctioned non-faculty posts are occupied. The ministry said vacancies depend on factors such as the availability of eligible candidates, reservation roster and the institute’s location.

The Centre said several measures have been taken to expedite recruitment, including Standing Selection Committees, recruitment examinations, engagement of retired faculty on contract and visiting faculty schemes, besides technology-driven initiatives to improve patient care and hospital services—(KNO)
