UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 11: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Minga Sherpa Friday convened a meeting of officers of different departments to review the preparation and implementation of the vision document on drug control 2026–2029 as mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritpal Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Umesh Shan and other officers.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on various aspects to be incorporated in the Vision Document, including the drug threat and roadmap, the three-year, time-bound national roadmap to dismantle the drug-trafficking ecosystem and advance the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery, capacity building, preparation of the district vision document, patient monitoring systems, onboarding of Nasha Mukti Mitras, among other related issues.
The DC directed the concerned officers to incorporate the District specific aspects for effective implementation of the Vision Document on Drug Control 2026–2029. He laid emphasis on adopting a network-centric approach to combat the drug menace and stressed the need for strengthened inter-agency coordination.
During the meeting, he directed the concerned officers to prepare the district vision document through extensive consultations with various stakeholders.
He said that the document would provide a comprehensive roadmap for tackling the drug menace through coordinated measures focusing on demand reduction, supply reduction, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.
