PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Kuldeep Krishan Sidha, Wednesday inaugurated the District-Level National Youth Festival under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) at Government Degree College (Boys), Pulwama.

The festival, as per an official statement, was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Pulwama, with the objective of providing a platform to young talent and encouraging their active participation in nation-building.

The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation of boys and girls in the age group of 15 to 29 years from across the district, who showcased their artistic abilities, creativity and cultural expressions through various competitions.

A series of competitions were organised in different disciplines, including Folk Song, Folk Dance, Painting and Poetry. Participants displayed remarkable artistic talent, creativity and enthusiasm, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and vibrant spirit of the district.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the Department of Youth Services and Sports for organizing the festival in a well-coordinated and systematic manner. He also appreciated the impressive performances of the young participants and encouraged them to make optimum use of such platforms to nurture their skills, enhance their confidence and excel in their respective fields.

He emphasised the importance of providing meaningful opportunities to youth to identify, develop and showcase their potential. He also assured full support and encouragement to deserving and promising young talent, urging participants to remain dedicated and strive for excellence.

The festival continued throughout the day, with participants competing in various categories. The selected participants will represent District Pulwama in their respective categories at the upcoming Inter-District Youth Festival.

The event provided an effective platform for promoting youth engagement, artistic expression and cultural preservation, while fostering creativity, confidence and leadership among young people in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat.
