Man killed as tractor falls into gorge

Kupwara, Oct 05: A man was killed and two others injured after a tractor they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge at Manchatter Kralpora in Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the tractor, travelling from Manchatter Kralpora, fell into a deep gorge, leaving three persons injured.

He said the injured were shifted to SDH Kralpora for treatment, from where one of them was referred to GMC Handwara, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The deceased was later identified as Tahir Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar, resident of Kralpora, while the injured were identified as Gh Qadir Ganie, son of Mohammad Sidiq Ganie, resident of Manchatter and Gh Qadir Ganie, son of Abdul Rahim Ganie, resident of Manchatter.

Meanwhile, police have taken up an investigation to ascertain the details leading to the accident. (KNO)
