Rana reviews relief, rehabilitation progress for landslide victims

Mendhar, Oct 04: Minister Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana Saturday convened a meeting with Sub-Divisional staff in Mendhar to assess the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures for families affected by the recent landslide tragedy in Kalaban.

During the review, the Minister stressed on the importance of comprehensive and transparent evaluation of damages incurred due to the natural calamity.

He directed officials to ensure that no affected family is overlooked, and that the assessment process remains fair, accurate and inclusive.

“The Government is fully committed to stand with every family affected by this tragedy. All necessary measures are being taken to ensure timely relief, rehabilitation and assistance to the affected individuals,” he said.

Rana also called for enhanced coordination between administrative officers and on-ground response teams to streamline rehabilitation and restoration efforts.

He urged for expedited preparation of compensation proposals and long-term rehabilitation plans, ensuring they reflect the real needs of the victims.

Rana issued clear instructions for prompt follow-up actions and regular progress reviews to monitor implementation on ground.
