Kupwara, Oct 07: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Ghulam Ali Khatana Tuesday took a dig at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saying the National Conference (NC) leader is still “living in the pre-2019 era” and needs to realize that Jammu and Kashmir has entered a new political and media landscape.

Talking to reporters during his visit to north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, Khatana said, “Omar Abdullah is living in the pre-2019 era, but he should know that this is the era of social media and electronic media. The time has gone when you could mislead people across the Valley with false narratives. It doesn’t suit now.”

He said Jammu and Kashmir presently has a “popular government” led by Omar Abdullah and therefore, he should “be among the people to address their miseries rather than indulging in political stunts.”

Khatana stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is focused on addressing the issues that were left unresolved, adding that the party believes in engaging all stakeholders. “BJP listens to every stakeholder of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

During his visit, Khatana also interacted with local stakeholders to review ongoing developmental works and address public grievances—(KNO)
