Ticket staff returns lost bag to passenger

Jammu, Oct 13: Indian Railways continues to demonstrate its commitment of safety, trust, and excellent service towards passengers.

Northern Railway, Jammu Division in a statement said that Ticket Sub-Inspector Adil Hussain at Headquarters (Srinagar), demonstrated remarkable dedication by successfully recovering and returning a passenger’s lost bag on Train No. 26402 Vande Bharat Express, running from Srinagar Railway Station to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

“A passenger travelling on seat number 42 in coach number C1 had accidentally left his bag in another coach. Upon discovering the missing bag, the distressed passenger immediately informed Adil Hussain, who was part of the ticket checking team on the train,” it reads.

It also said that, Hussain launched a search and located the lost bag. “After proper verification procedures, he ensured that the bag containing a mobile phone and approximately Rs 5,000 in cash was safely returned to its rightful owner.”

The passenger expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hussain and Indian Railways for their prompt cooperation and honesty.

Appreciating this exemplary act, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal said, “We commend the promptness and dedication of the ticket checking staff. This incident demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our railway personnel to serve passengers with honesty and responsibility.”

A commendation certificate has been announced for Adil Hussain’s efforts and exceptional service.

This incident confirms that Indian Railways employees are always vigilant and committed to ensuring the convenience, safety, and satisfaction of their passengers—(KNO)
