Srinagar, Oct 31: Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday adjourned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly sine die.

The nine-day session, which was largely free of disruptions, saw the passage of five government bills.

According to details available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the bills passed include the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Shops and Establishments (Licensing, Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Bill, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Tenancy Bill, 2025, and the Jammu and Kashmir Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025.

As per details available with KNO, the Assembly Secretariat received a total of 732 questions from MLAs during the session. Of these, 682 were admitted, and 29 were taken up for discussion, with 73 supplementary questions raised by members.

During Zero Hour, legislators brought 97 issues to the attention of the government.

In terms of legislative initiatives by members, 14 new private bills were submitted, while 33 bills from previous sessions remained pending. On October 28, 41 private member bills were listed for introduction in the House. However, only eight were taken up, and all were either withdrawn by the movers or disallowed by the House. (KNO)
