DC, SSP Poonch extend greetings to Sikh community

POONCH, NOVEMBER 5: The 556th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour across Poonch district.

The main function was held at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Poonch, under the supervision of Shrimaan Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib. Mahant Sahib Ji extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the devotees and urged them  to wake up early in the morning, remember the Almighty and lead a life guided by the principles of truth, compassion and humility as taught by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

The celebrations began with the completion of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, followed by soulful Gurbani Kirtan rendered by renowned Ragi Jathas including Bhai Balwinder Singh Ladi (Hazuri Ragi Sachkhand Shri Darbar Sahib), Bhai Jitanpal Singh from Kashmir, Bhai Harcharan Singh, Bhai Ranjeet Singh (UP), Bhai Rasmeet Singh, Bhai Bupinder Singh, Bhai Sartaj Singh, Bhai Manjeet Singh Bali and others.

Prominent preachers, including Dr. Harsimranjeet Singh (Professor University of Jammu), specially visited Poonch besides Bhai Ravinder Singh and others, delivered enlightening Gurbani Vichaar and shared insights from the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, who was born on April 15, 1469, at Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, Pakistan).

The event witnessed the presence of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Ashok Kumar Sharma, SSP Poonch, Shafket Hussain Bhat, ASP Mohan Lal, Dysp HQ Neeraj Sharma, and other officers from civil and police administration. They also extended heartfelt greetings to the Sikh community on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Parkash Purab.

President of DGPC, S. Narinder Singh, addressed the Sangat and highlighted the divine teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, emphasizing peace, equality and humanity.

The proceedings of the programme and Gurbani Vichaar were conducted by the General Secretary, DGPC. S.Harcharan Singh.

The ceremony concluded with the Hukamnama recited by Shrimaan Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji.
