SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 6: The Department of Social Welfare Shopian in collaboration with the Department of Ayush Thursday organized a significant Awareness cum Free Geriatric Health Check-up Camp for senior citizens at the Tehsil Social Welfare Sub Office, Chitragam, Shopian.
The event was held under the aegis of the National Action Plan for Senior Citizens (NAPSrC) which focused to create awareness regarding various welfare schemes of the department and address the specific health needs and well-being of the senior citizen community in the region.
A dedicated team of doctors and healthcare professionals from the Ayush Department provided comprehensive health check-ups, consultations and preventive health advice. Over 200 senior citizens attended the camp and availed themselves of free medical services, including crucial health screenings, dietary guidance and awareness on managing age-related ailments.
The event also served as a platform to raise awareness about various government welfare measures and schemes available for senior citizens under the NAPSrC, greatly benefiting the participants through accessible and specialized healthcare.
