Srinagar, Nov 11: A day after a car bomb blast killed eight people near Red Fort in New Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting here to review the security situation and operational preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting, according to the news agency—Kashmir Mews Observer (KNO), was held in the backdrop of the blast in the national capital and the recent recovery of explosives and arms from JeM and AGH terror module comprising of doctors.   “Chaired a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar, earlier today,” LG Sinha wrote on X.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Home Department, Chandrakar Bharti, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special DGP S J M Gillani, ADGP CID NItish Kumar and IGP Kashmir Zone V K Birdi.

The Lieutenant Governor directed all concerned officials to maintain constant vigil and security and emphasised on seamless coordination amongst the J&K Police, Intelligence and security agencies.

Pertinently, in one of the most shocking counter-terror revelations in recent years, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in coordination with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh Police recently unearthed a massive terror network allegedly masterminded and operated by doctors working across the country.

Two Kashmiri doctors identified as Dr. Aadil Ahmad Rather and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel were apprehended in separate operations in Saharanpur and Faridabad. Later, a woman doctor from Lucknow, Dr Shaheen Shahid, was also detained after her car was found used in the transport of arms and ammunition.

Police said that Dr Shakeel’s aide, Dr Umar Mohammad of Pulwama, is suspected of carrying out a fidayeen (suicide) attack in a Hyundai I20 near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort, which killed eight people, hours after the terror module was busted.

After the arrests police carried out massive searches across multiple districts and recovered two pistols (Chinese Star and Beretta models), an AK-56 rifle, an AK Krinkov rifle, and approximately 2,900 kilograms of IED-making material, including explosives, chemicals, electronic circuits, remotes, and metal sheets.
