Reviews winter preparedness

BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Friday chaired a meeting of officers to review advance preparations at district level to ensure seamless snow clearance, availability of all essential commodities and services and also to mitigate exigency, if any, in the district.

The DC directed all concerned to execute a joint action plan effectively to ensure that people of Budgam have a smooth, pleasant experience alongside snowing and also mitigate any challenge arising out of inclement weather.

He instructed officers of R&B , Mechanical department to keep their men and machinery in ready gear and keep them stationed at all designated locations for timely snow clearance on all roads/ links to ensure prompt connectivity restoration.

In order to ensure uninterrupted power supply, the DC called for timely restoration of all essential lines and timely installation of affected infrastructure, if any be carried out seamlessly.

Similarly, Executive Engineers from Jal Shakti were instructed to ensure unaffected water supply to all areas.

The DC directed that all SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers to take comprehensive rounds within their jurisdiction to review the action on ground. Also, directed them for establishment of control rooms at subdivision level to assist the public during harsh weather conditions.

The CMO Budgam was instructed on smooth ambulance service during any requirement and adequate medical facilities in all upper and low lying areas of the district.

The DC also directed for the establishment of 24X7 Control room for the general public at District Headquarters for any assistance during winter season.

The meeting among others was attended by the SE R&B division Budgam , ADC, CPO, ACR, SDMs, CMO, Executive Engineers of different engineering wings, Tehsildars, EOs of MCs.
