BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 25: In a continued push towards strengthening urban housing infrastructure and ensuring dignified living conditions for all, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Tuesday handed over 17 sanction letters to eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.

The distribution ceremony was held in Baramulla and witnessed participation of officials from the Municipal Council Baramulla. The beneficiaries drawn from economically weaker and deserving sections, will receive financial assistance for construction of pucca houses equipped with basic amenities.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasised that PMAY-U 2.0 is a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting urban households who lack adequate housing. He stressed the district administration’s commitment to ensuring transparent implementation, timely release of installments, and close monitoring of construction progress.

Minga Sherpa directed the concerned Executive Officer and field staff to provide full support to beneficiaries, including technical guidance, documentation assistance, and regular follow-ups to avoid any delays. He reiterated that housing for all remains one of the top developmental priorities of the administration.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the district administration for extending timely support and enabling them to fulfil the dream of owning a safe, secure home.
