DODA, DECEMBER 18: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh Thursday chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and other power sector initiatives being implemented in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner, as per an official statement, undertook a comprehensive appraisal of both the physical and financial progress of RDSS works. The review covered key components including feeder bifurcation, loss-reduction measures, strengthening of distribution infrastructure and installation of smart meters.

Emphasis was laid on maintaining quality standards and adhering strictly to prescribed timelines to achieve the scheme’s objective of improving the efficiency and reliability of power supply.

A power point presentation was delivered highlighting the major works executed under RDSS so far. The presentation included updates on the replacement of wooden poles, feeder-wise completion status, current power supply status, DTR augmentation and replacement and the status of execution of MCM (Million Circuit Meter) quantities across the district.

The review also covered the status of STD station reviews, tower installation works and progress on other critical power infrastructure projects.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned agencies to accord top priority to completion of solarization projects on priority. He further stressed that cabling works and installation of smart meters should be implemented simultaneously to avoid duplication of efforts and ensure efficient execution.

Directing the executing agencies to expedite ongoing works, particularly in remote and winter-prone areas, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for timely resolution of bottlenecks through effective inter-departmental coordination.

Officers were instructed to carry out regular monitoring, ensure proper field-level supervision and submit periodic progress reports to avoid delays.

The meeting was attended by the CPO, SE PDD, GM DIC, Executive Engineers (XENs) PDD, SDM Thathri and SDM Gandoh, AEEs, AEs, JEs of PDD and other concerned officers and officials.
