Body of Tral woman recovered from Dal Lake

Srinagar, Dec 20: The body of a 27-year-old woman from Tral was recovered from Dal Lake near Hazratbal in Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and officials of Hazratbal and Nigeen Srinagar retrieved the body from the water near Hazratbal Shrine Ghat No. 3.

He said, after the recovery, the body was handed over to the local police for legal and medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as Minha Farooq, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Lone (27), a resident of Gulab Bagh, Tral in Pulwama district.

Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the woman’s death. (KNO)
