DC Anantnag reviews arrangements for Republic Day-2026 celebrations

ANANTNAG, JANUARY 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF Hamid, reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day-2026 celebrations during a comprehensive meeting with concerned officers on Thursday at Dak Bangalow, Khanabal.

The meeting was attended by ADCs, GM DIC, ACR, ACD, SDMs,CPO, CMO, CEO, CAO, CAHO, DSEO, representative of SSP, district and sectoral officers, representatives of Educational Institutions and other concerned officials.

At the outset, the DC, as per an official statement, noted that Republic Day marks an important milestone in the history of our country. He called for celebrating the occasion with traditional zeal and enthusiasm, and directed all officers and departments to make necessary arrangements befitting the national event. He further remarked that all concerned officers and agencies must execute their assigned tasks seamlessly to ensure the celebrations are a grand success.

During the meeting, arrangements related to the timing and schedule of the event, security, sanitation and cleanliness, seating, medical facilities, power and water supply, illumination and decoration, deployment of fire tenders, transportation, invitations besides stage management, PA system installation, and prize distribution were reviewed in detail.

The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Shaheed Humayun Muzammil Memorial, Government Degree College (Boys), Khanabal, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the Chief Guest, followed by a parade by contingents of the J&K Police and other security forces. Colourful cultural items highlighting patriotism, nationalism, and folk traditions will also be presented on the occasion.

It was further informed that similar functions will be organized at the Sub-Division and Tehsil levels, where the respective SDMs and Tehsildars shall ensure that all necessary arrangements are made well in advance for smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebrations.

Urging officers to perform their duties diligently, the DC emphasized that coordinated efforts of all departments are essential to organize the Republic Day celebrations with festive and patriotic fervour.
