Reasi, Jan 2: As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the export ecosystem in the Union Territory, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), under the aegis of the Industries & Commerce Department, organized the Export Awareness cum E-commerce On-boarding Drive in District Reasi on Friday.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the District Administration and the ODOP Team- DPIIT, under the guidance of Sudershan Kumar, Managing Director JKTPO.

The initiative aims to empower local entrepreneurs, artisans, MSMEs and producer groups by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to access international markets through exports and online platforms.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Joint Director/ Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

In his remarks, he appreciated the efforts of JKTPO in reaching out to the grassroots level to create export awareness and build the capacity of the local enterprises. He highlighted the potential of Reasi’s unique products, including traditional crafts and agri-based produce, under the One District One Product (ODOP) and District as Export Hub (DEH) initiatives, emphasizing the importance of branding and marketing them globally.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 90+ local entrepreneurs, self-help groups, artisans and farmers, who actively engaged in discussions and expressed interest in obtaining Importer Exporter Codes (IEC) and registering their products on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and other e-commerce platforms.

Representatives from key organizations such as FIEO, ECGC and GeM delivered insightful sessions on export documentation, financial support schemes, risk mitigation and digital trade opportunities.

Expert speakers also guided participants through the processes of IEC registration, export financing options, branding strategies and onboarding for e-commerce and GeM platforms.

The initiative marks another milestone in JKTPO’s dedicated efforts to promote export-oriented growth across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir under the District as Export Hub Scheme and ODOP initiative. The next Export Awareness cum E-commerce Onboarding Drive is scheduled to be held in District Ramban on 6th January 2026, continuing JKTPO’s mission to build a robust, inclusive and competitive export ecosystem across the Union Territory.
