SRINAGAR, JANUARY 08: On the eve of the upcoming National Youth Day, scheduled to be observed on 12 January 2026, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar organized an awareness programme under the DAWN (Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation, For a Drug-Free India) Scheme.
The programme, as per an official statement issued on Thursday is part of a week-long initiative aimed at promoting youth-centric outreach and community awareness in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority.
During the drive, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar, actively engaged with the general public to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible life. Through sustained interaction and sensitization efforts, the Para Legal Volunteers highlighted preventive measures, legal safeguards, and the support systems available for individuals affected by substance abuse.
District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar informed that the awareness activities under the DAWN Scheme will continue up to 12 January 2026, culminating on National Youth Day.
The ongoing programme seeks to reinforce the message of youth empowerment, resilience, and informed decision-making, while reaffirming the commitment of DLSA Srinagar towards building a drug-free and socially aware community.
