SRINAGAR, JANUARY 08: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar, Thursday conducted ‘Father-Daughter Selfie’ initiative under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign at UPHC Batamaloo.
The ‘Father-Daughter Selfie’ Initiative, implemented under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, aims to foster gender equality by encouraging families to publicly celebrate and value their daughters. The initiative seeks to generate awareness about the importance of educating and empowering the girl child, while also strengthening the emotional bond between fathers and daughters. It also highlights the effective use of digital platforms as tools for social change and positive messaging.
As part of the programme, hygiene kits were distributed among girl children to promote personal hygiene and help prevent the spread of infectious diseases. The initiative emphasized the importance of adopting good hygiene practices from an early age to support better health, improved immunity and overall well-being of children.
