SRINAGAR, JANUARY 14: Social Welfare Department, SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar conducted, Training Programme on various Women Centric schemes and legal provisions at Zila Sainik Welfare Office Srinagar Wednesday with the functionaries of various Child Care Institutions of Social Welfare Department.
During the program, the participants, as per an official statement, were made aware about various Women Centric laws including (Prohibition of Child Marriage Act ,2006, Dowry Prohibition Act,1961, Domestic Violence Act ,2005, Maternity Benefit Amendment Act ,2017, Sexual Harassment at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal)-POSH Act, 2013 and Equal Remuneration Act,1976).
The significance of organizing such training programme is to enhance knowledge and develop capabilities of the functionaries to deliver services effectively.
District Mission Coordinator, S-HEW, emphasised the importance of such capacity-building initiatives and highlighted the significance of women-centric schemes and legal safeguards through a detailed presentation.
The Event witnessed the presence of functionaries from each Child care institution of Social Welfare Department including Palassh, Pareesha, Observation Home, Open shelter for Boys, Open Shelter for Girls, Intellectual Disability Home-Boys, Intellectual Disability Home- girls and Specialized adoption Agency and internship students from college.
The event was attended by the District Mission Coordinator S-HEW, Ruqaya Ashraf and officials of S-HEW, Social Welfare Departments.
