Govt appoints Shantmanu as State Election Commissioner

Srinagar, Feb 17: The J&K Government on Tuesday appointed retired IAS officer Shantmanu as the State Election Commissioner.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Lieutenant Governor has appointed Shantmanu as State Election Commissioner.

He will serve for five years or until he turns 70, whichever is earlier, reads the order, a copy of which is lying with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

The appointment takes effect from the date he assumes charge. (KNO)
