Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in Sopore

Srinagar, Feb 28: In its continued efforts to curb drug trafficking and eliminate the menace of narcotics from society, J&K Police arrested 02 drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered Psychotropic substance from their possession.

According to a statement, a police party of Police Post Warpora, during Naka checking at Janwara Crossing intercepted a vehicle (EECO) bearing registration number JK05N-4224 with 02 persons onboard. Upon search of the vehicle, psychotropic substances were recovered and seized as per due procedure. They have been identified as Mohammad Arif Chopan, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Chopan, and Aatif Mushtaq Mir, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, both residents of Janwara Sopore. Both accused were arrested and accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 41/2026 has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
