BUDGAM, MARCH 05: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir khan, Thursday chaired a review meeting regarding the implementation and progress of the 4G Saturation Project in the district.
During the meeting, the DC, as per an official statement, took a comprehensive review of the status of land transfer and identification of sites for installation of 4G towers aimed at enhancing digital connectivity across Budgam.
It was informed that land has been transferred at 23 locations in the district for the installation of 4G towers under the project. The DC stressed on expediting the necessary procedures so that installation and operationalization of these towers is carried out in a time-bound manner.
The meeting also discussed the identification of additional sites in shadow areas under both General Purpose and Special Purpose categories to ensure seamless mobile connectivity for the general public as well as uncovered tourist destinations across the district.
The DC emphasized the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure, stating that improved connectivity will not only benefit residents but also enhance access to online services, education, healthcare and tourism-related activities. He directed the concerned officers to identify all remaining connectivity gaps and ensure prompt coordination with telecom service providers so that the benefits of the 4G Saturation Project reach every remote and underserved area of the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam , JD planning, ACR Budgam, DIO Informatics and officers from the concerned departments and representatives of telecom service providers.
