BARAMULLA, MARCH 05: Market checking teams headed by Tehsildars, along with officials from Municipalities (EOs), Legal Metrology, Food Safety Department, Food & Civil Supplies Department and Police, are conducting regular inspections in all markets across District Baramulla during the holy month of Ramzan to ensure price control and prevent overcharging.

During the inspections, various establishments were checked for adherence to government-approved rates, hygiene standards and proper weighing practices. Strict action is being taken against violators found indulging in overpricing and other irregularities.

A total fine of Rs 82,500 has been imposed on erring traders across the district.

Traders have been urged to strictly follow the prescribed rates and maintain quality standards during Ramzan. The public has also been encouraged to report any instances of overpricing or malpractice to the concerned authorities.
