NIELIT to host job fair for trained youth in Srinagar, Jammu on March 16 & 18

Srinagar, March 12: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India is organising a Job Fair under the project “Skill Development for Digital J&K and Ladakh”. The programme will be held at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) campuses in Srinagar and Jammu.

As part of the initiative, the job fair, as per a PIB statement issued on Thursday, is being organised to connect trained youth with potential employers and promote employment opportunities in the region. The Job Fair is scheduled to be conducted on March 16, 2026 at the NIELIT J&K Srinagar Campus and on March 18, 2026 at the Convocation Centre, Jammu. The event aims to connect skilled youth with prospective employers and enhance employment opportunities in the region.

The project, sanctioned for a period of three years, aims to conduct skill development programmes for 9,450 youth across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, including 4,779 candidates from SC/ST categories and 4,671 from the General category, ensuring inclusive participation.

Under the project, state-of-the-art online examination facilities are being established at Srinagar, Leh and Kargil, while existing laboratories at Srinagar, Jammu, Leh and Kargil are being upgraded to meet industry standards and enhance the quality of training and assessments.

The event will witness participation from a large number of trained candidates under the Skill Development for Digital J&K programme, including graduates, diploma holders and candidates possessing technical certifications under the project.
