Police arrest drug peddler in Pulwama

Srinagar, Mar 14: Acting against drug trafficking, Police in Pulwama arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas-like substance during naka checking in Litter.

According to a statement, a police party from Police Station Litter at a checkpoint established at Rakh Litter and checking pedestrians and vehicles. During checking, a person carrying a polythene bag was seen approaching from Litter towards Rakh Litter. On noticing the police party, the person attempted to flee from the spot, however, the police team acted swiftly and apprehended the individual. During search, substantial quantity of charas-like substance was recovered. He has been identified as Nawaz Ahmad Khan son of Gull Mohammad Khan resident of Wachi, Shopian.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 29/2026 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation has been taken up.

J&K Police remains committed to its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and urges the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking—(KNO)
