Srinagar, Mar 15: A terrorist was killed in an anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control in Uri sector in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.

An official said that the operation was launched during the intervening night of March 14–15, following specific intelligence shared by Jammu and Kashmir Police about a possible infiltration bid in the Buchhar area of Uri.

He said, acting on the intelligence, Army troops and police laid a joint ambush in the area.

“During the operation, alert troops noticed suspicious movement of a terrorist inside dense vegetation. The ambush party readjusted its position and challenged the terrorist, who opened indiscriminate fire, triggering a brief exchange of gunfire,” the official said. “In the encounter, one Pakistani terrorist was killed and security forces recovered warlike stores, including an AK rifle, pistols and a large quantity of ammunition,” the official added—(KNO)
