Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal visits Bandipora, reviews judicial infrastructure

BANDIPORA, APRIL 13: Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Judge, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Administrative Judge for District Bandipora, Monday visited the newly constructed Court Complex at Bandipora.

On his arrival at the Court Complex, he, as per an official statement, was received by Jeema Bashir, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora; Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora;  Mir Wajahat, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bandipora; Ajaz Ahmad Zargar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bandipora; Iqbal Akhoon, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bandipora; Amandeep Singh, Munsiff, Bandipora;  Sofi Feroz, President, Bar Association Bandipora; besides other judicial officers, members of the Bar, and officers of the civil and police administration.

The Principal District and Sessions Judge, expressed gratitude to the Administrative Judge and acknowledged the presence and cooperation of all dignitaries, including officers of the civil and police administration, members of the Bar, judicial officers, media personnel, and all participants who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The Deputy Commissioner,  appreciated the development of judicial infrastructure in the district and assured continued cooperation of the administration in facilitating the functioning of the courts. She also emphasized the importance of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan and sought the cooperation of the Bar and judiciary in making the campaign successful.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal emphasized the foundational role of the District Judiciary in the justice delivery system and observed that the effectiveness of the judiciary is measured by the quality and accessibility of justice at the grassroots level.

While appreciating the establishment of the new Court Complex, he observed that the facility has not yet been fully operationalized and directed that the process of shifting be completed within one week. He further emphasized that all pending requirements be addressed on priority through coordinated efforts of all stakeholders.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening judicial infrastructure, adopting technology for efficient functioning, ensuring timely disposal of cases, and maintaining fairness, sensitivity, and efficiency in the administration of justice. He also highlighted the vital role of the Bar in assisting the courts and emphasized the need for professional responsibility and cooperation.

On the occasion, justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal also interacted with judicial officers, members of the Bar, and officers of the civil and police administration and took stock of issues relating to infrastructure and functioning of courts in the district.

Sofi Feroz, President, Bar Association Bandipora, expressed gratitude to the Administrative Judge for his visit and highlighted various infrastructural requirements at the Court Complex, including availability of basic amenities, provision of facilities for litigants and lawyers, and the need for full-time functioning of courts. He also sought establishment of a Consumer Court and strengthening of judicial infrastructure in the district.
