Srinagar, 14 Apr: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference leaders and MLAs Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi and Hilal Akbar Lone led separate delegations of local unit functionaries from Gurez and Sumbal-Sonawari to the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, where they called on Rajya Sabha MP and Additional General Secretary Chowdry Muhammad Ramzan to felicitate him on assuming his new organisational responsibility.

The delegations, as per a party statement, lauded Ramzan’s elevation, describing it as a reflection of his seasoned political acumen, grassroots connect, and longstanding contribution to the party’s organisational fabric. Party leaders underscored that his appointment comes at a crucial political juncture, where experience, ideological steadiness, and organisational discipline remain key to strengthening the party’s outreach and cadre cohesion.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders from Gurez and Sumbal-Sonawari expressed confidence that under Ramzan’s expanded role, the party’s political messaging and grassroots mobilisation will gain further momentum, particularly in strengthening booth-level structures and reinforcing the party’s connection with border and frontier regions.

MP Choudry Ramzan while receiving the delegations expressed gratitude for the gesture and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party at every level. He said the party’s real strength lies in its cadre base and the trust of the people, adding that organisational responsibilities are not positions of privilege but instruments of service and political responsibility.
