DC Shopian chairs meeting with traders, vendors associations to strengthen Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan in District

SHOPIAN, APRIL 16: Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Shishir Gupta, Thursday chaired a meeting with representatives of traders and vendors associations of the district to seek their active cooperation in making the ongoing Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan more impactful in its results.

During the meeting, The DC, as per an official statement, emphasized the crucial role of the business community in curbing the menace of drug abuse and appealed to all stakeholders to extend their full support in this collective effort.

Traders and vendors were urged to remain vigilant and assist authorities in identifying and reporting any suspicious activities related to drug peddling.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, also participated in the meeting and requested traders and vendors to cooperate with the police in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the district.

He highlighted the importance of timely information from the public in identifying and acting against drug peddlers.

Traders and vendors were further encouraged to spread awareness and carry forward the message of a drug free society across all sections of the community.

During the interaction, representatives of traders associations and vendors assured the administration that they would extend full cooperation and help in every possible way to curb the drug menace from the district.

They expressed their commitment to actively participate in awareness and prevention efforts.

The meeting was also attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Shopian,and other officials.
