Sonamarg logs 2 lakh tourists in Q1 of 2026

Ganderbal, Apr 22: The renowned health resort of Sonamarg recorded an impressive tourist influx during the first quarter of 2026, with a total of 1,98,425 domestic, foreign, and local visitors exploring the scenic destination from January to March.

According to official data, January witnessed the highest footfall, with 98,216 tourists visiting Sonamarg between 1 and 31 January. Of these, 86,523 were domestic tourists from various states across India, 1,379 were foreign nationals, and 10,314 were local visitors.

In February, the resort attracted 61,128 tourists, including 48,594 domestic travellers, 1,633 foreign tourists, and 10,901 local visitors. In March, a total of 39,081 tourists visited Sonamarg. However, officials noted that the detailed category-wise breakdown for the month remains either incomplete or inconsistent—(KNO)
