SHOPIAN, APRIL 25: In a step towards strengthening democratic participation, a grand SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) awareness programme was organized at National Innovations Public School, Zainapora under the aegis of the Chief Education Officer Shopian, Bashir Ahmad Shah (District Nodal Officer SVEEP).

The programme, as per an official statement, was conducted in the form of a vibrant morning assembly, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and officials.

The event aimed at sensitizing young minds about the importance of voting and fostering a culture of informed and responsible electoral participation.

On the occasion, resource persons and experts delivered insightful and motivating talks, emphasizing the pivotal role of every citizen in a democracy. They highlighted that voting is not merely a right, but a powerful responsibility that shapes the future of the nation.

Special focus was laid on motivating first time voters and encouraging them to actively participate in the electoral process.

Adding further value to the programme, students of the institution actively participated by expressing their views, sharing awareness messages, and demonstrating a strong commitment towards the democratic ethos. Their involvement brought energy and purpose to the event, reflecting the growing awareness among the youth.

The primary objective of the programme was to maximize voter turnout in the upcoming Panchayat Elections by creating awareness at the grassroots level and ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind.

The initiative also sought to dispel apathy towards voting and inspire citizens to exercise their franchise in a free, fair, and informed manner.
