BARAMULLA, APRIL 30: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, a mega awareness programme was organised Thursday at Degree College Uri to sensitise the public, especially youth, about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The event, as per an official statement, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, officials, and members of the local community.

During the programme, participants were educated about the physical, psychological, and social consequences of substance abuse, and the importance of collective efforts in building a drug-free society.

Chief Medical Officer Baramulla, Dr. A.G. Raina, who presided over the programme, highlighted the growing concerns related to drug addiction and stressed the need for early awareness, prevention, and community involvement. He urged the youth to stay away from drugs and act as ambassadors of change in society.

On the occasion, an anti-drug pledge was administered to all participants, reaffirming their commitment to remain drug-free and to contribute actively towards eradicating the menace of substance abuse from society.

The programme concluded with a strong message of unity and responsibility, reinforcing the resolve to make the society healthier and drug-free.
