DC Srinagar convenes District Capex meeting for 2026-27

SRINAGAR MAY 07: In order to discuss the plan proposals for District Capex Budget for the financial year 2026-27 and to ensure timely initiation of physical execution of proposed developmental works, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo Thursday convened a meeting of all Executing Agencies at Banquet Hall Conference Complex here.

The meeting, as per an official statement, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, IAS Probationer, Alfred Thomas, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Circle North, Shabir Ahmad, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Circle South, Tatheer Manzoor, Superintending Engineer Hydrualic, Er Anbreen, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tahir Sajad, Chief Education Officer, Ghulam Mohi Ud Din,  Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD, SMC, UEED and all other District & Sectoral Officers.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the plan proposals under the District Capex Budget for 2026-27 and sought updates regarding preparation of estimates for works proposed under the District Capex. He emphasized the need for prioritization of developmental works in accordance with public demands and projects having visible and meaningful impact on the ground.

The DC directed all Executing Agencies to ensure timely submission of estimates so that administrative approvals are accorded without delay, enabling early tendering, allotment and execution of works for the benefit of the people of the district, keeping in view the limited working season. He further stressed that all developmental works proposed under the Capex Budget 2026-27 must be executed in a time-bound and transparent manner to achieve the desired outcomes and strengthen public service delivery across sectors.

During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the status of completed works under District Capex 2025-26 and instructed the concerned departments to furnish requisite details in a timely manner and ensure uploading of completed works on the e-compendium portal.

 The DC also stressed the importance of improved coordination among the line departments, adherence to timelines, maintenance of quality standards and proactive planning to facilitate smooth, optimum utilization of resources and effective execution of developmental works across the district.
