SHOPIAN, MAY 08: A meeting regarding preparations for Census 2027 was Friday held under the chairmanship of ADC Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz.

During the meeting, a detailed review of various agenda points related to the upcoming Census exercise was carried out.

Discussions were held regarding tehsil wise appointment and registration status of Enumerators and Supervisors on the CMMS portal, besides preparations for the training programmes of field functionaries.

It was informed during the meeting that the training schedule for Supervisors and Enumerators has been scheduled from May 14 to May 23, 2026.

The ADC directed all concerned officers to ensure timely completion of the training process and proper coordination for smooth conduct of the Census activities.

The meeting also discussed issues related to completion of formation of House Listing Blocks (HLBs) and implementation of self-enumeration targets in the district.

Emphasising the importance of public participation, ADC Shopian directed all officers to intensify publicity and awareness activities at the grassroots level so that people are adequately informed about the Census process and self-enumeration facilities.

He also instructed concerned departments to maintain close coordination and ensure timely completion of all preparatory activities well before commencement of the Census operations.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ACR Shopian, Shakoor Ahmad Dar; DSEO Shopian,Bilkeesa Zahoor; DIO Shopian, Showkat Hussain Ganie, Tehsildars,CEO MC Shopian and other officials.
